Kumeyaay for iPhone Version app for iPhone and iPad

This is the Kumeyaay language app. The project was initiated by the Kumeyaay Language Consortium. At the directions of Tribal Chairman Leroy Elliot of the Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, and Chairman Anthony R. Pico, Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, Viejas Tribal Secretary Anita R. Uqualla formed the consortium which includes tribal members from the different bands of the Kumeyaay Nation. The mission statement of the consortium is to “preserve and restore the Kumeyaay Language by recording, archiving and promoting the use of the Kumeyaay language in our communities.” This app is one means to accomplish this. The project was funded by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and gifts the app to the Kumeyaay Nation.

We hope that this app will help in the language revitalization efforts of the Kumeyaay people.
